Itinerary

Day 01

Meeting at Sadakhlo (Armenia – Georgia border), transfer to the hotel, accommodation, diner, overnight.

Day 02

Breakfast at the hotel.

Tbilisi city-tour including visits to: Metekhi church (XIII c); Abanot-ubani (natural sulfur springs, bath –houses built in XVI-XVII cc); Narikala church (the church, first was built in IV c. and in XI it was destroyed. Finally it was rebuilt in late XX c. There is a great view of old district of Tbilisi from this church); Sioni Cathedral (VI-VII cc) is the place where Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II resides; Karvasla: where you can see ancient Georgians clothes and hand made goods. Visit to the Golden Fund at Janashia museum; A walk on Rustaveli Ave. (the downtown).

Lunch in a Georgian restaurant, Souvenir shopping (optional)

Return to the hotel; Evening free, Dinner at the hotel, overnight.

Day 03

Breakfast at the hotel.

Tour to Mtskheta (30 minutes to drive). In the ancient times Mtskheta was the capital of Georgia and is most important religious center. It is situated at the convergence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi Rivers. There are a number of very significant archeological and religious monuments in and around town. Visits to Svetitskhoveli cathedral (XI c); Jvari church (VI c) and Dedata (Mothers) monastery (XI c) which is dedicated to St. Nino, who brought Christianity into Georgia. It was first built in IV c, (the wooden church) and was rebuild in XI c.

Lunch in a Georgian restaurant.

Return to Tbilisi. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 04

Transfer to the airport, Departure
